Coach Sean Porter-

Coach
Sean Porter is a proud Houstonian and a 1994 graduate of Lamar
High School, where he excelled in both basketball and baseball.
After graduating from Lamar, Coach Porter went on to attend
Texas Southern University where he earned a Bachelor of Science
degree in Human Performance. Coach Porters' passion for coaching
basketball began in 1995 at the Brentwood Baptist Church. It was
while coaching at Brentwood that Coach Porter realized that his
talents would best be utilized coaching the game of basketball.
In 2002 Coach Porter was hired as the athletic director at the
Harvest Christian Academy School in Pasadena Texas. In addition
to serving as the athletic director he also coaches cross
country, track and boys varsity basketball. Upon his arrival at
Harvest, Coach Porter inherited a varsity basketball squad with
a losing record that lacked both a full time coach and the
discipline required to be winners...Fast forward two
years...Coach Porters' squad has compiled a two season record of
50-13 and won back to back district championships, all with the
original group of nine young Christian men that nobody believed
in...including themselves. Coach Porter truly enjoys working the
leaders of tomorrow developing their skills as athletes and
teaching them that what really matters in life is having honor
and good character while doing the best that you can in all that
you do. |
