Class of 1999 Former Rice standout Johnetta Hayes joined the UNCW women's basketball program as an assistant coach on June 16, 2010. Hayes spent two seasons at North Texas, where she served as an assistant coach. Prior to her stint at North Texas, Hayes served as head coach at Wiley College in Marshall, Texas, where she guided the NAIA program to 42 victories in her two seasons. Hayes led the Wildcats to a 29-7 record in 2007-08 and helped the school earn its first-ever national ranking as Wiley finished the campaign ranked No. 22 in the country. Hayes was named The 2007-08 Red River Athletic Conference Coach-of-the-Year. A prolific defensive player and four-year letter-winner at Rice, Hayes was a 2003 first-team All-WAC selection after leading the Owls in scoring, rebounds, blocked shots and field goal percentage. Hayes ranked 16th in the nation that season in blocked shots per game, averaging 2.46 rejections per contest. She is second all-time in blocked shots at Rice with 142 and ranks sixth in school history with a career rebounding average of 8.1 rebounds per game. She graduated from Rice in 2004 with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Psychology and has a Master's Degree in education administration from Prairie View A&M.

Alicia Cash has served two stints at her alma mater, University of Arkansas-Little Rock. Cash rejoined the UALR’s women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach in July of 2008. In 2009-10, Cash assisted the women’s team to the team’s first-ever NCAA appearance and win and third-straight Sun Belt West Division title. Cash served as a coach at Byrd Middle School in Duncanville, Texas during the 2007-08 season. At Byrd Middle School, Cash helped coach the eighth grade girls basketball team to district champions while also assisting the varsity girls team at Duncanville High School. Prior to Byrd Middle School, Cash served as Director of Basketball Operations at UALR from 2005-2007. She graduated from UALR with a Bachelor of Arts in Health Science with an emphasis in Exercise Science in 2004 and a masters degree in education with an emphasis in Adult Education in 2006. Cash competed for the Trojans from 2000-2005 where she earned the program’s first-ever All-Sun Belt Conference honors in 2004. She also helped lead UALR to the team’s first-ever post-season victory over Denver. Cash ended her career at UALR the school’s all-time leading scorer with 1,282 career points and second in rebounds with 682 boards. Cash resides in Little Rock, Ark. and has one daughter, Bailey, born June 25, 2010.

Named 2005-06 WAC Player of the Year, becoming the first Bulldog to earn the honor since 1986-87 ... first team All-WAC selection ... tabbed a Preseason All-WAC selection by the coaches ... she finished with 13 points and a career-best 13 rebounds and nine assists in season debut vs. Arizona on Dec. 15, 2005...dished out career-high 11 assists in a WNIT victory vs. UNLV on Mar. 19, 2006...(2004-05) Named to WAC All-Tournament team after she averaged 21 ppg and pulled down 10 rebounds and dished out 10 assists during conference tournament play ... scored a career-best 23 points vs. UCLA on Dec. 11, 2004...New Mexico Junior College: Helped guide NMJC to a 50-11 record over two seasons...two-time All-WJCAC first team honoree...two-time All-Region selection during her time at New Mexico Junior College. Callye Williams
Callye Williams is a part of the James Madison Strength and Conditioning staff as the senior assistant strength and conditioning coach. Callye spent six years at Mississippi State University where she competed as an athlete and served as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach. Callye was a four year starter at second base for the Bulldogs softball team...garnered Academic-All American Honors.. earned a spot on the Southeastern Conference Honor Roll multiple times...served on the Conference Good Works Team for her service within the community...graduated cum laude with a degree in communication during the spring of 2006...When her playing career ended, Williams earned the McWhorter Post-Graduate Athletic-Academics Scholarship Award...awarded to the top female and male athletes at each Southeastern Conference institution who demonstrate outstanding qualities in the competitive arena and in the classroom...She earned her master’s in business administration..Prepped at James E. Taylor High School in Katy Texas. Earned all-district honors and named to the All Greater Houston Team. Finished 5A state runner-up two out of the four years and garnered All-state tournament team and second team all-state honors.
Cristina Briboneria
Cristina graduated from Oberlin College with degrees in Mathematics and History 2005. She was a four year letter-winner at Oberlin. She finished her career as the 5th All Time Scoring Leader in school history with 1,232 points. She holds school records in 3pt FG made (234), 3pt FG attempted (676), and 3pt percentage (.346). Cristina joined Ameriprise Financial in 2005 and was one of the Top 10 Advisors in her peer group at the end of her first year. Cristina joined oXYGen Financial, where she is currently the Vice President, Private CFO. She currently serves as Regional Coordinator for the Oberlin Alumni Group. She also holds the financial planning position in the Norcross, GA BNI (Business Networking International) Group.
Class of 2003
Following her collegiate career, Franklin was the 38th overall selection in the 2008 WNBA Draft by the Sacramento Monarchs. She spent the 2009 season with the Seattle Storm. Franklin also spent two seasons as an assistant coach with the Houston Elite AAU team. During that time she assisted with in-game coaching, team practices and scouting of future opponents. Franklin received her bachelor's degree from Texas A&M in May 2009. Following her professional career, Franklin returned to her alma mater to serve as a graduate assistant coach at Texas A&M. A'Quonesia Franklin is now an assistant coach at Stephen F. Austin.
Alaina Lee ![]() Alaina Lee graduated 76th from Madison High School where she was a 4-year starter...helped Madison to a combined 119-19 (.862) record over those four seasons, with district titles in each season...Named all-state first team her senior season...also named all-region and all-District 18-5A MVP...a member of the Texas Coaches Association All-Star Team...a Greater Houston All-Star...a two-time nominee for Houston Chronicle Athlete of the Week...attended the prestigious Adidas Top 10 camp in Atlanta...also was a member of the volleyball team as setter, earning all-district first-team honors in 2001 and 2002 and all-district second-team honors in 2000...a Texas Scholar and member of the honor roll...She majored in physical education at Murray State University in Kentucky...She played a career best 48 minutes at Southeast Missouri State her junior season...handed out a career-high six assists against Southern Illinois her sophomore season...scored a season-high 23 points in the final game of the season, at Eastern Kentucky...She helped lead Murray State to the programs first ever conference championship and NCAA tournament as a senior...Lee played in 109 games at Murray State ranking her 8th All-Time...She had a career best 28 points against Tennessee State her senior season...Alaina has come back to be an Asstant Coach with Houston Elite...will be the assitant coach at Blinn Junior College in Brenham, TX.
Bianca Smith
Bianca Smith played basketball for the University of Colorado. The summer before her senior year she played with the USA Athletes International, an organization that gives amateur athletes the opportunity to participate on an international stage. They played 7 games in Vienna and the Czech Republic. Smith holds the University of Colorado record for the most 3-point attempts (698) and most 3-pointers made (256). She also set the single season record for 3-pointers (81) made. Smith had career highs in points (26), and rebounds (12), She ranked second in the Big 12 in 3-point accuracy at 38.2%. She originally signed with the University of Tulsa, but decided to come to Colorado. She earned Big 12 Conference Player of the Week, CU's Most Improved Player Award and Big 12 Six Man Award. Smith is a 2005 graduate of Bellaire High School where she was a four-year letter winner. She earned District MVP, first team all-district, and Houston Girls Athlete of the week honors. She won an AAU national championship with Houston Elite. Smith earned a double major in marketing and sociology. Smith is preparing to go overseas to play professionally.
