Houston Elite White took part in the 17-under qualifier over the weekend at Rice University. They got out to a fast start winning their first 3 games by double-digits. White lost to long time rival Houston Hotshots 17 Gold 76-70. Three different times the Hotshots increased the lead to double digits and three different times Elite closed to within 6 points but they could never get over the hump. White then fell to the Houston Insiders in overtime. This was a disappointing loss because Elite has just beaten them by 15 the day before. Elite was looking ahead to a rematch against the Hotshots later that day and found themselves in a dog fight. The Insiders played inspired and eased away with a 76-74 OT win.
